Free the penguins!

My parents are in Antarctica right now. They are not scientists. They simply have too much free time on their hands. I do think it's funny that Antarctica made the front page of cnn.com while they are there... Perhaps they will witness this momentous event.

Not too much free time, just an interest in keeping our minds active. This trip was a study program with lectures on geology, global warming, wandering albatrosses and other birds who are suffering from long line fishing. We saw almost 100 species of birds in Patagonia, the Falklands, South Georgia, the Orkneys, and Antarctica as well as whales, seals, and literally hundresds of thousands of penguins. It was a great trip and I would recommend that it go on everyone's list of things to do before you die. This trip was also an ongoing expression of our philosophy that you don't need to leave it all to the kids! Mom
